My channel is unknown or suspended?

My channel itself is up and running, and all is well, except for a few things. Now when I log in, I don't have op, but luckily someone else did, and he doesn't know how. He gave me op so i can do these things, but i need to auto op my username. Whenever I do so i get the following:
Channel #homebrewheaven is unknown or suspended
any idea as to why? Everything was going fine until it stopped giving me op when i logged in.
